Shapeshifter

Shapeshifter

A Poem by Raquel Swann

You are a shapeshifter

Ever changing

Ever evolving

Some days you are a wall

Impenetrable, unavailable

Some days you are a locked door

And I seem to have the key

Some days you are an atrium

Inviting, Quaint, Comfortable

Some days you are a friend

The only one who understands me

Perhaps there are lines

Imaginary lines

Boundaries between us

Today you are the Sun

And I am Neptune

Billions of miles apart

Jump in your spaceship

And rescue me

I could really use a hug.
