Crying

Crying

a Poem by Raquel Swann

a calm exterior, she has

going with the flow

flowing in a stream

on a raft drifting through life

there’s a storm brewing

beneath the surface

between cracks and crevices

you wouldn’t know

her emotions kept in check

like hungry lions in a cage

one day they’ll break free

and everyone will know the truth

spilling liquid from familiar eyes

a strange feeling to be sure

as the world sees her

unencumbered

uninhibited

uncovered

with eyes filled with tears

Of joy, of pain, of fear, of sadness

You will see.
