Envy

Envy

a Poem by Raquel Swann

I want to move like you

glide, seemingly never

touching the floor.

I want to think like you

some think it irrational,

emotional, I find it

inspiring and fearless.

I want to look like you

adored by those who

haven’t even learned

my name, admired as

I walk by.

I want to shop like you

buying cute things

and fancy things

that make me feel

good about myself.

I want to speak like you

with a beautiful

inflection and tone

high pitched yet sexy

whispering in the ears

of those who truly love me.

I want to dance like you

swinging my hips

back and forth

hypnotizing and,

sensual.

I want to feel like you

silky and smooth

soft and delicate

yet tough and

vigorous.
