Trust
a Poem by Raquel Swann
To you
i am a thief in the night
a greedy politician kissing
the innocent head of a newborn
a used car salesman who always
seems to have “a deal for you.”
I’m the weather report you saw
before your sunny day at the beach
was ruined by unexpected rain.
You question my existence
as an atheist would god
I’m the hidden fees on
your credit card bill.
Yet, i am none of those things.
Without Trust
How can we live?
