Drive

Drive

a Poem By Raquel Swann

Staring out the window

I see…

Low hanging dark clouds

Airbrushed across the sky

Patches of blue

Around the horizon

This gray may yet pass

But it lingers on

The sun hides behind

A wall of dark cover

Drops of rain collide

Onto the windshield

For a brief moment

Until the wiper sweeps

Them away.

It makes you think,

Even days like this

Can lead you into

a clear night when

Every star in the vast sky can be seen.

Hold on to hope

Whenever these clouds

Get you down.
