Jealousy

Jealousy

a Poem by Raquel Swann

It’s bubbling underneath the surface

Terrible gases and pressure

Force a smile on smug faces

Phony laughter ensues

My best interests at heart?

I think not.

I saw you creeping within the shadows

Weeks ago.

Studying my every move

You’re the spy, infiltrating

Desiring my secrets.

Know this,

Every word I utter is designed

To pull you out from underneath

Your filthy rock!
