For Now

For Now

a Poem By Raquel Swann

Strength and spirit have left

Snuck out the back door

I wasn’t paying attention

Wrapped up in a world of misery

Dark clouds blanket the sun

And not a single ray of light

Can be prayed or hoped upon

Never will I feel the warmth of another

Nor do I derserve such pleasures

Your empty words of love

Like Poison Ivy to my skin

Make me ill

Hurling your guilt upon me

So carelessly

As you attempt to clear your

Precious conscience.

In my weakened state

I’ll believe anything you say

I’ll even believe I’m not good enough

For now.
