Crush
a Poem by Raquel Swann
There’s a place
Within your eyes
My reflection cast
Upon your iris
An undetermined future
Perhaps another time
Perhaps another dimension
We consort in public places
Interlocked hands
Perfect sentences
A flawless monetary system
I pay you in compliments
You pay me in smiles
Burdens of the world
Left behind
In a daydream
For when I wake
Things are as they should be
Misery guides me home
Never to return
Until I look into your eyes
Again.
