Ghosted

a Poem by Raquel Swann

Do you remember the exact time you became an apparition?

An empty presence sitting in a silent room.

Looking out the window on a rainy day

Wondering why you ceased to exist in the eyes of those who matter.

As the hourglass turns over in front of you

You watch time slip through the neck.

The piling sand sends a lone anxious shiver down your back.

This day you realize, it’s time to pick a different room.

One where the spotlight is on you, shining brightly.
