Magician
a Poem by Raquel Swann
With each passing moment,
I melt away like ice on a summer’s day.
In the pool of excess water,
you can find traces of a person
I used to be.
Underneath the final sheath,
locked in chains,
bound by keyless handcuffs,
I await escape.
It will be my greatest magic trick.
Now you see me,
Now you don’t.
