Hidden
a Poem by Raquel Swann
Within the many layers
Of skin tissue and bone,
I lurk within the shadows,
Waiting for guiding light.
Not many travel down this far,
Afraid of what they may find.
Clear mind and clear heart,
Choices have been made.
Not much longer will I
Remain hidden.
Tally marks on cave walls
Hoping to outlast the darkness
Within the lonely dwelling
I keep trudging on
In search of light
Of love
Of hope.
