Shattered

Shattered

a Poem by Raquel Swann

As nighttime falls,

I notice a crack in the glass

Of the window to my soul.

I’ve weathered storms,

Bested typhoons,

Out-spun tornadoes,

to get where I am today.

I’m afraid the days ahead

Will leave me shattered,

Unrepairable,

Blinding my eyes,

As a dreary future,

Consumes what’s left of me.
