Two Worlds

Two Worlds

a Poem by Raquel Swann

One world,

a panic room to run into,

lock the doors

No windows

just a naked soul

exposed to the night.

Another world,

a crowded street for all to see,

Spotlights

Canines chasing

sniffing me for contraband

never a moment alone.

One day I left the door unlocked,

They snuck in

and thrashed the place.

Now I live in one world.

One crowded, watchful, busy,

Lonely world.
