Tidal Wave
a Poem by Raquel Swann
You’re a tidal wave,
Unsafe to be sure
Shore, standing
Awaiting your crash,
Dash, running won’t
get me away,
At Bay, I’m helpless
So why do I stay,
Say, so many things
I want to get out,
Shout, in my mind,
All I think of is you
Cruel, I lay here in
the shadow of your wake,
Forsake, there is
Nothing left to take,
Fake? For what I
hear in your voice,
Choice, I tried to move on,
Gone!
when push comes to shove,
Above, you curl, I watch
Dead!
in the name of love.
