For The Last Time

a Poem By Raquel Swann

Guilty no more,

Sins of the past paid in full,

I’ve suffered long enough,

I was never good enough for you.

Nothing I do ever will be.

Years of hatred and malice,

Summed up in a few sentences.

Every single word,

a weapon of mass destruction,

Aimed for my heart.

You say you have to cut

the negatives out of your life.

You’ve hurt me for the last time,

and you’ll never know how much.
