a Poem by Raquel Swann
As we lay here, I lean over
notice your back facing me
steady breaths and cute noises,
while you sleep.
What about me, tonight?
Remember the days
when we couldn’t keep hands off
The smell of summer rain,
lips as soft as silk,
fingers caressing every crevice,
every inch of skin never neglected
those nights when the fifteen minute
drive home was far too long.
A parked car behind office buildings
lust and love were one in the same.
Along the way things changed,
but I still remember how it feels
the taste of you stained in my memories.
After all these long difficult years,
I still thirst for your touch.
Wake me up in the morning with a kiss,
let’s relive day one, everyday,
from now until forever.
