Tick-Tock

a Poem by Raquel Swann

Tick-tock

one second has passed you by,

It’s only a second,

in which you didn’t try.

Tick-tock

A minute, you stayed in bed,

Was there something else,

you could have done instead?

Tick-tock

an hour, went out the door.

Push your goals aside,

For one hour more.

Tick-tock

A day just wasted away.

I’ll get it to it tomorrow,

is what you’ll say.

Tick-tock,

One year passes you by,

You make a resolution,

But it was a lie.

Tick-Tock

a decade, you’ve progressed no where.

All of the sudden you’re complaining,

That life isn’t fair!
